VISITING CATTERY
**We operate a CLOSED CATTERY and do not allow casual or walk-in visits. This policy is in place for several important reasons, with the safety and health of our cats and kittens always coming first.
1. Safety of our cats and kittens
Our cats are never caged. They live freely in our home as part of our family. Kittens are often underfoot, and allowing visitors into an active home environment increases the risk of accidental injury to both people and kittens.
2. Health and disease prevention
Very young kittens are frequently present in our home and many are unvaccinated. Viruses, parasites, and bacteria can easily be brought in on hands, shoes, and clothing — even by well-intentioned visitors.
Sphynx cats have extremely sensitive immune systems, and prior to their first vaccination at 8 weeks old, kittens have no immunity. For a kitten under 2 pounds, even a mild virus can be life-threatening. Unfortunately, this is something we have learned through experience.
We ask prospective families to consider this:
If you had a deposit on a kitten with us, would you want unrestricted access to the nursery and strangers handling the kittens? Protecting them is our responsibility.
3. Respect for our home and time
This is our private home. We have families and full-time responsibilities. In the past, allowing visits resulted in frequent no-shows, late arrivals, and entire days lost waiting for appointments. For these reasons, we no longer offer open visits and kindly ask that this boundary be respected.
How We Keep You Connected
NoCoatKitty is very active on social media. We regularly post videos and photos of our kittens and adult cats so families can follow along and watch them grow.
Once a kitten is fully vaccinated (9–11 weeks old) and has been purchased, we do allow a scheduled visit. At that time, your kitten will be brought out of the nursery to meet you. We do not allow handling of other kittens.
Thank you for understanding and supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our cats.
